Hands-Free Driving LawsNew Hands-Free Legislation There are several states that have hands-free legislation moving through the approval process. Among the states facing new cell-phone related driving laws are Arizona and Pennsylvania. Two other states, California and Washington have new hands-free laws going into effect in 2008. Hands-free devices include bluetooth headsets, wired headsets and car kits. Your cellular phone must be bluetooth compatible to use with a bluetooth device. Hands-Free Laws Across the United States Hands-free driving laws are going into effect across the United States and some states will be banning cell-phone use while driving completely. California has 2 new laws going into effect on July 1st, 2008 one of the laws (SB1613) allows a driver to use a cell-phone if there is a hands-free device used.
